Design Team Update:
We are reviewing and selecting materials and colors for the interior and
exterior of our new church. This includes the various flooring materials,
wall surfaces, lighting design, and use of stone and brick.
Construction
Leaders:

At this time, we are waiting for a survey of the site to mark the area that
the trees are to be cut. We will get a permit for the stump and tree
removal. There are six contractors interested in removing the stumps and
trees. Karen Gray has agreed to be the official photographer, so be watching
for her photos on this website. The Construction Team has been charged with
the task of designing a maintenance building that matches the exterior of
the church and has a shop included. The Team is also going to be designing
the classroom area which is in the lower level of the church.
Communication & Publications

The Communications
Team met last Thurs., Apr. 10. At that meeting we formed a subcommittee to
work on the invitation to groundbreaking which will be in this week’s
bulletin. We also made plans to update the display in the back of the winter
church with the construction timeline and a countdown to groundbreaking. The
gifting opportunities brochure will be made available to interested people
on Memorial Day weekend and will be available throughout the course of the
summer. Information from the Transition Team and the Construction Team is
needed before work can begin on the brochure, and that information should
be forthcoming shortly. We will make a presentation on a DVD to play in the
back of the summer church. It will be updated with current pictures and
information every couple of weeks.
Building Advisor Team
The Building Advisory Team has asked the
captains of each of our teams to meet with them at their weekly meetings in
order to coordinate all our efforts in order to make sure that everyone is
well informed about what's happening.
Transition Team
The Transition Team has some questions about the display of giving to the
old church buildings. Father and Mick will attend their next meeting
scheduled for Mon., Apr. 28.
Interior Design Team
The Interior Design Team
The Design Team has determined the color, size and material of floor tile we
prefer for the center aisle, side aisles and hallway to the Social Hall. The
choice of brand will be determined by cost. We have also determined the
color and thickness of the marble to be used on the base of the altar, the
back wall behind the crucifix, and the sanctuary floor and steps. Again,
these choices will be determined by the costs. Those areas of the entire
church that are to be carpeted have also been determined.
